‘Complex Simplicity’ opens 22 Jan 2022

‘I am the bossanova of you’ and many other paintings ready and waiting for the ‘Complex Simplicity’ exhibition

After a couple of years working towards it, my solo exhibition 'Complex Simplicity' opens next month. To say I'm excited is to understate it somewhat! The exhibition will have my recent series of paintings. These are the colourful works you've glimpsed if you follow my blog, social media accounts or newsletters.

Using my customised mono-transfer process, I created these works with just simple shapes - circles, rectangles and squares - and a restricted palette of 10 colours. And that was just the beginning of the fun. These creative constraints really allowed my creative ideas to expand and increase. How cool is creativity! When we constrain it, it flourishes!

Also showing at my exhibition will be an installation piece 'Optical Brighteners', a series of stop motion animations, a site specific mural, and an interactive space where you get to play at being an artist (in a very safe way). With the overarching theme of 'happiness' I believe the whole show will get you feeling happy and hopefully inspire you to stay that way.

I hope that you will be able to visit at some stage during the exhibition! Keep in mind that summer is the perfect time to visit Coffs Harbour if you're still choosing your holiday destination.
