This is the first in a little series of posts about colour mixing acrylic paints. I'm an absolute colour maniac and I love mixing colours just as much. After lots of study and even more practise I'm reasonably comfortable mixing just about any colour. The colour today is Magenta. 

I do have a squeeze bottle of paint labelled 'quinacridone magenta' and it is one of my staple colours I use to mix other colours. So why would I want to mix magenta? Because straight out of the tube (or squeeze bottle) magenta is very transparent, very bright and very standard. I do include it in this mix - why wouldn't I? - but as you will see it's just one of many colours that go into the very interesting and harmonious magenta I mix.
